The Artsy Oracle - Yang WOod Dragon Year Edition (2024)

The Artsy Oracle was developed to bring more dimension to my transmissions, to express what cannot be described in words. I wanted my clients have something to hold in their hands, place on their altars, inscribe upon their candles and use within their magical workings especially around important astronomical events or thresholds such as the lunar New Year or powerful eclipse windows. Some clients have likened this offering to having a personalized oracle card that deepens in meaning over time. Art is Magic.

For each transmission, I ask, “What does this lunar year hold in store for the client? Are there any messages for the client from the Great Mystery about the nature of this year? ”. What follows is a 15-20 minute recorded reading including a description of the vision received, a few Tarot cards to round out the vision, and a randomly chosen poem to further stoke the divinatory fires. I then distill the entire message of the reading into a phrase of encouragement/blessing which gets worked into a symbol, called a sigil. The sigil can be printed out, drawn onto important documents, inscribed on candles, carried in pockets, as a helpful reminder of whatever arises in the transmission. Once the transmission is recorded and the sigil is created, I send both of these to you via email.

In the weeks following the transmission, I will set aside sacred time and space to ritually work the vision and sigil into a painted or drawn piece of art work. Because the entire process is intuitive, the medium I use and the size may vary, though I always draw within a tracing of one of my tarot or oracle cards, so about a 5 inch diameter circle or 3.75x 5 inch rectangle on a slightly larger piece of paper. Sometimes, I focus on pencil, other times it’s watercolor. Once the piece is complete, it will be stabilized with cardboard, sleeved in plastic and sent via USPS Priority mail.
